For many families this has usually been on the “To Do List” to get dumped for a really long time.

Just as well you have put it off for such a long time.  This A-frame is the ideal structure to use as a base for the best chicken coop imaginable.  With a bit of planning, some extra materials like chicken wire, a door frame, hinges, nuts and bolts, sheeting and a few other bits and pieces, this can become a very nice DIY project.
