Survival usages:

White Pine

The leaves of the White Pine can be found in batches of five needles. Every fall the White Pine will lose its older needles hence the Pine is always green. The White Pine produces pine cones instead of flowers.
Survival usages:
- Resin mixed with tinder material can be used as a fire extender.
- Heated resin can be mixed with crushed charcoal to make a natural epoxy.
- The resin rich joints and stumps make excellent fire kindling.
- Tea can be made from the green pine needles and is rich in Vitamin C.
- The inner bark layers are edible.
- Pine nuts can be harvested from the cones.
- The Pine needles make outstanding natural insulation material for huts and survival shelters.
- Green pine boughs are excellent for lean-to shelter roofs and for making beds.
- The lower dead branches are great fire kindling and can also be used to make a bow drill for a fire friction set.
- Pine resin can be used for waterproofing.
- The surface layer roots make excellent natural cordage.
White Oak

The White Oak have rounded leaves and produces edible acorns. These trees are some of the largest in the forest and can grow over 100 feet tall.
