One of the biggest issues with cotton balls are, they will ignite easily but will burn out within seconds.
With the correct “treatment” however, you can get your cotton balls to burn much longer, as a matter of fact, they will burn for a few minutes.  This allows you more than enough time to get a proper fire going.
