Many farmers think feed restriction promotes health across your chickens, but you will be in for a surprise

It’s popular among local (small) poultry farmers to restrict the amount of feed your chickens are exposed to. The idea is that the chickens will eat less of the food you give them, and instead search the ground for worms and bugs.

While this is a perfectly viable idea, it turns out things aren’t working as expected.

You can try to both restrict and not restrict the chicken feed, and take down notes on how your chickens are behaving. Are they happy or not? Are they laying more or fewer eggs than expected? You get the idea.
